ROAT, ROTE, ROTH, RHOAD.........Looking for any connections to these variations on my ancestor's names in Hancock County. Also, GOEPPELE, GABLE, GABEL Peter ROTH m. Catherine FLAGER in Germany prior to their immigration around 1852. Their daughter Mary ROTH m. John GOEPPELE ( later changed to GABLE OR GABEL) from Wurtemberg, Germany, in 1870 in Hancock County. They had 10 children, Kathryn, George, William, Levi, Paul, Philip, Minnie, Cozy, Edward and Hazel. Edward GABLE m. Hulda ? and moved to Tipton, Okla to raise a large family but returned for reunions in Findlay many times with their children, Gladys, Georgia, Walter, Willoughby and Mary Edna. Kathryn GABLE m. Joseph Frank MORRIS and lived most of her adult life in Findlay, Ohio with their four children, Murrell Winfield, Myrtle May, Paul Gable and Walter Edward. Myrtle might be known by her married name, OSBOURNE. She worked as a waitress and cook in the West End Tavern and at Haley's. Minnie GABLE married Albert MYERS. They also raised a large family in the Findlay area. We understand there was another GOEPPELE family in the area and would love to be able to confirm a connection. They were also from Wurtemberg. If you think we might explore a connection I would be delighted to hear from you and perhaps share a family photograph as my aunt Myrtle passed on a large collection, many of them unidentified.

CHERRY family members buried in McComb Union Cemetery. Someone, about Feburary 2005 or so, sent me a list of all the CHERRYs buried in the McComb Union Cemetery - would it be possible for someone to re-send that to me? I know about: Jas B. CHERRY (Gr-Gr Grandfather); Mary E. CHERRY (Gr-Gr Grandmother); James Lewis CHERRY (Gr-Grandfather); Daisy CHERRY (Step - Gr-Grandmother); I need information on the others, especially the spelling and dates for a Armintha CHERRY. The dates for Jenny Rowe CHERRY. (Gr-Grandmother). Also, does anyone know who has knowledge on grave ownership (i.e., deed holders) - is it the City? County? I would like to know who owns the (5 or so) graves next to the Family plot. (i.e. Row that James Bartlett CHERRY) is buried in.

CROW, MILLER posted by Nancy Thornton on Monday, December 26, 2005

MILLER, Jacob (1864-?), Caleb (1865-1941), and Thomas or Wilson (1870-?); Parents probably were Samuel and Lyda or Lydia Ann CROW MILLER. Found in 1870 Findlay Township, City of Findlay, Hancock Co., Ohio census. Caleb said he was sent to Kansas around 1874 and raised in an Orphanage. Don't know what happened to Jacob or Wilson. Samuel probably died then and family was dispursed. In 1880 census, Lydia was living with her widowed brother, Ephraim (1819-1890) in Washington Township, Hancock Co., Ohio, with widowed mother Hester and sisters and other relatives, but none of her kids. Any information on any of this family would be greatly appreicated.
